Salman Khan has been making no bones about promoting 17-year-old Isabel as his leading lady in Veer with the director of the film Anil Sharma, who continues to be undecided about his lead heroine.
Salman Khan has written the script for Veer, which is being produced by Eros International and Vijay Jalani with a budget of Rs 75 crore. He is reportedly being paid a package of Rs 25 crore to cover his lead role and scripting.
Anil Sharma, in the past has directed films such as Gadar: Ek Prem Katha (2001), The Hero: Love Story of a Spy (2003) and Apne (2007)
While Katrina has trashed the speculation saying Isabel is too young for a career in films, Katrina, herself is 23, has also trashed speculation that she and Salman, 42, are an item, but continues to host parties at Salman Khan's house.

After showing true glimpses of acting in last year’s hit New York, Katrina Kaif is now hoping to shock her fans with a power-packed performance in director Prakash Jha’s film Raajneeti.


Even though the political thriller has Katrina giving long speeches and monologues in chaste Hindi, the gorgeous actress reportedly prodded Jha to add more dramatic and challenging scenes for her.

Sources from the film’s sets in Bhopal are quoted as saying that given the film’s intense, serious and socio-political subject, it stands a good chance of getting some recognition at the National Awards. And Katrina, being the only leading female actor in the movie, has her hopes pinned on bagging one for herself.

Ever since she stepped into tinsel town, Kat has been labeled as an alabaster beauty who can’t emote well in front of cameras. But the actress, it seems, is hell-bent on proving her detractors wrong.

Katrina, however, denies having influenced Jha to make her role weightier.

Pleasing Katrina Kaif

How many best actor awards do we see given out at Oscars or Golden Globes? One each for both male and female actors. But the award functions in Bollywood, it seems, have their own standard by which they try to please all the actors who hold sway in the industry.

No surprise then that a special award category was created at the recently held Star Screen Awards just to honour Katrina Kaif.

Some of the awards given out during the evening did raise brows among the skeptics.

There’s no doubt that Amitabh Bachchan and Vidya Balan deserved to win the Best Actor awards, male and female respectively. Even Kareena Kapoor being given the Best Actress award in Popular Choice category could be understood. But what was the need of creating a new category (Entertainer of the Year) altogether?

The answer is simple. Katrina Kaif who had given the maximum number of hits last year could not be snubbed at the award function, particularly when she had agreed to perform during the event.

So Presto! A new category was created and Katrina given the trophy.
