The Badshah of Bollywood and the reigning queen, Katrina Kaif may share a screen space together if things fall in place.
Paris based Indian filmmaker Vijay Singh is planning to do what others have not so far. He is casting Shahrukh and Katrina as the lead pair for his next venture.
Vijay Singh, who has done acclaimed movies like Jaya Ganga and One Dollar Curry, is making a period movie on 18th century historical love story between an Awadh king and a British girl.
He is creating a fresh jodi on the silver screen. He will be speaking to the Badshah to play a role of Awadh emperor and wants Katrina to play his British love interest.
In an interview, Vijay Singh, said “I had met Shah Rukh regarding the movie and he had liked the idea. I am planning to approach him again for the role of the Nawab. He ruled Awadh from 1826-36 and fell in love with a British girl but their love did not suit the interest of opium traders at that time.”
He opines that, Shahrukh Khan is perfect for the role of Nawab Naseeruddin Haidar in his third film, The Opium Symphony, based on his book Whirlpool of Shadows.
He further added,’ I was planning to take a Hollywood starlet opposite Shah Rukh for the role of the British girl, but I might talk to Katrina Kaif as I have been told she is British and a fine actress.’
The budget of the movie is around 70 crores.
